Pivot on June 5th: Charmaine Cadeau, Andrew Faulkner, David Seymour, & Ayelet Tsabari

Pivot enters the final month of its 2012-13 season with a quartet of new readers. A duo of new books from the city’s great poetry citadel, Coach House Books, are paired with a buzzworthy short story collection (written by a brand new mom!) and the return of one of Ontario’s best young poets to her old stomping grounds. It’s our penultimate show of the spring. If you’ve been missing us lately: you’re going to want to get your fill.

Cast list:

Charmaine Cadeau grew up on the shores of Lake Ontario in Toronto. She has two collections of poetry: What You Used to Wear (2004), and Placeholder (2013) published this April by Brick Books. She lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where she works as an Assistant Professor of English at High Point University, and edits the art and literary journal, Apogee Magazine.

Andrew Faulkner co-curates The Emergency Response Unit, a chapbook press. His poems have been published in The Best Canadian Poetry in English 2011, and his chapbook Useful Knots and How to Tie Them was shortlisted for the bpNichol Chapbook Award. His debut collection is Need Machine (Coach House Books, 2013). He lives in Toronto.

David Seymour‘s Inter Alia was nominated for the Gerald Lampert Award. His poems have been included in three Best Canadian Poetry anthologies, shortlisted for the CBC Literary Award and used as song lyrics for The Warped 45’s. His second collection, For Display Purposes Only, was released this spring from Coach House Books. David lives in Toronto, where he works in the film industry.

Ayelet Tsabari is the author of the short story collection The Best Place on Earth (HarperCollins). A two-time winner of Event’s Creative Non-Fiction Contest, her writing also appeared in Prism, Room, Grain, and Prairie Fire.
