March 21: Sandra Ridley, Rebecca Rosenblum, and Ayelet Tsabari

Pivot celebrates the start of spring with three of the loveliest flowers you’ll hear this year…  come get your bloom on with Ottawa poet Sandra Ridley, and new fiction from Toronto’s own Rebecca Rosenblum and Ayelet Tsabari.

Sandra Ridley’s second collection of poetry, Post-Apothecary, was published in fall 2011 with Pedlar Press. Sandra has received the bpNichol Award (with co-recipient Gary Barwin), the Alfred G. Bailey Prize, and was twice short-listed for the Robert Kroetsch Award for Innovative Poetry. Her first book of poetry, Fallout, a finalist for the 2011 Ottawa Book Award, won the 2010 Saskatchewan Book Award for Publishing. Sandra is a sessional instructor at Carleton University.

 Rebecca Rosenblum’s fiction has been short-listed for the Journey Prize, the National Magazine Award, and the Danuta Gleed Award, longlisted for the Relit Award, and she was herself a juror for the Journey Prize 21. Her collection, Once, won the Metcalf-Rooke Award and was one of Quill and Quire’s 15 Books That Mattered in 2008. Her first chapbook, Road Trips, was published by Frogs Hollow Press in 2010. Ayelet Tsabari was born and raised in Israel. She is a writer and a photographer, a two-time winner of Event’s Creative Non-Fiction Contest, and her writing has also appeared in Prism, Room, Grain, and the anthology Slice Me Some Truth.
