Pivot on November 7th: Cole, Dixon and Tierney

Hi everyone,

Pivot is skipping Halloween because Pivot is scared of the ghosties. We’ll be back on week thereafter with three new readers. Two poets and a story-er. Two gents and a lady. One Londoner. One Cape Bretoner. One Torontonion. One ballyhooed new critic. One Trillium shortlistee and one Brownwen Wallace Winner. There is much to see and think. Come for 8 PM. Stay late.

Cast List:

Stewart Cole grew up in the Rideau Valley south of Ottawa, and has since lived in Victoria, Montreal, Fredericton, and Toronto. As of very recently, he is based in London, Ontario. His poetry has appeared in a variety of publications across Canada, including The Fiddlehead, Prism International, and Riddle Fence, and in the chapbook Sirens (Cactus Press, 2011). He also maintains the monthly Canadian poetry review blog The Urge (theurgepoetry.blogspot.ca). His first full-length collection, Questions in Bed, was published in September 2012 by Ice House, the new poetry imprint of Goose Lane Editions.

Nicole Dixon has lived in Toronto, Sarnia, Windsor, North Bay and Halifax. Her work has been nominated for the Journey Prize and a CBC Literary Award and appeared in The New Quarterly, Grain, The Fiddlehead and Canadian Notes and Queries. In 2005 she won the Writers’ Trust of Canada RBC Bronwen Wallace Award for short fiction. Electronic resources librarian at Cape Breton University, Nicole divides her time between New Waterford, Cape Breton, and Advocate Harbour, Nova Scotia. High-Water Mark is her first book.
